INTERBETON participates as Academic Partner in the pan-European academic seminar “Think Green, Build Smart: The Sustainable Industry Challenge”
INTERBETON participated as a sponsor and Academic Partner in the pan-European academic seminar “Think Green, Build Smart: The Sustainable Industry Challenge”, organized by BEST Thessaloniki from 8–16 March, with a focus on sustainability in industry.
BEST is a volunteer-driven student organization with a presence in universities across Europe, creating opportunities for learning, networking, and development for engineering and technology students. This year’s seminar brought together students from European universities as well as from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, offering them the opportunity to explore contemporary issues related to industrial sustainability and the ways in which the sector is called to respond to today’s environmental challenges.
As part of this collaboration, INTERBETON contributed with a lecture and workshop delivered by Mr. Ilias Igoumenidis, who presented current developments and requirements in sustainable construction and the role of concrete as a tool for strategic and sustainable design, sharing valuable insights and practical approaches with the participants.
The highly positive response highlighted the importance of building strong bridges between academia and industry, fostering meaningful knowledge exchange.
Through initiatives like this, INTERBETON strengthens its connection with the next generation of engineers and scientists, supporting activities that promote knowledge, sustainability, and collaboration between academia and the market.
