Technical Strength with Architectural Intelligence

Aesthetic & Functionality in Balance

INTERBETON, with a steady commitment to innovation and sustainability, has developed INTERTOP Exposed: an architectural ready-mixed concrete specifically designed for outdoor pavements that demand both high visual quality and long-term durability. This product incorporates circular-economy principles and provides a high-value solution for projects that combine design freedom, technical excellence, and environmental responsibility.

INTERTOP Exposed is an intelligent, technically advanced, and aesthetically refined architectural solution for outdoor surfaces, delivering durable performance with minimal upkeep. It combines structural robustness with aesthetic appeal and ecological awareness—a contemporary proposal that reflects the demands of today and the values of tomorrow. A concrete solution that embodies the future in every layer.

The Language of Concrete in Architectural Composition

The INTERTOP series transforms concrete into an architectural material with character, texture, and longevity. Each variant—Exposed, Mosaic, Textura—expresses a different facet of the same element: the power of surface texture. This approach translates into monolithic slabs with natural beauty and technical precision, designed to endure over time and integrate effortlessly into their surroundings. The INTERTOP series delivers, through solutions that combine simplicity, quality, and sustainability:
• A strong aesthetic identity
• Fast construction
• Low lifecycle cost

Technical Performance with Long-Term Durability

INTERTOP Exposed is an advanced architectural concrete designed to provide high structural stability without requiring additional overlays or frequent maintenance. Thanks to its specially engineered mix, it guarantees excellent performance over time—even under intense mechanical and environmental stress.

Technical Characteristics

• Minimum compressive strength class: ≥ C25/30
• Flexural strength: ≥ 4.0 MPa
• Workability: class S3 (slump 10–15 cm)
• Reinforced with polypropylene microfibers for protection against drying shrinkage cracking
• Monolithic construction with reduced joint density, minimizing future interventions
• Supplied with reflectance indicators, tailored to the mix design and local aggregates used
• Does not require surface coatings or replacements during its service life and resists mechanical and environmental stresses with no loss of performance
• Industrial product with consistent quality, reducing construction time by up to 50% and maintenance costs by 60–80%

Durability & Sustainability

INTERTOP Exposed offers high mechanical strength and long-term stability without requiring surface protection or intensive maintenance. Its monolithic nature limits cracking and delamination, while the integrated fibers enhance structural cohesion. It can also be produced with recycled aggregates, depending on availability and each INTERBETON ready-mix plant’s capabilities.

INTERTOP Exposed:
• has an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD)
• is 100% recyclable
• and allows for the use of recycled aggregates

Thessaloniki Metro

INTERBETON supplied concrete for the construction of underground sections of the project, while in above-ground areas—such as station entrances and plazas—high-aesthetic architectural concretes were used, including INTERTOP Exposed, INTERTOP Textura, and INTERTOP Mosaic, as well as the super pumpable concrete INTERPUMP, and the permeable concrete ENVIRA.

Attica Metro Line 3

INTERBETON supplied a total of over 150,000 m³ of concrete, serving exclusively the Agia Varvara and Nikaia stations during the project’s first phase, as well as the Deligianni shaft in the Piraeus area. The company also participated to other stations along the line, contributing substantially — both in volume and quality — to the “Piraeus” station. The completion of the new metro line involved demanding concrete works (up to 2,000 m³), requiring the deployment of a large fleet of concrete mixer trucks operating simultaneously with three concrete pumps.
