INTERBETON First in Greece and Southeast Europe to Receive International CSC Certification

INTERBETON Building Materials S.A., a member of the TITAN Group, has become the first company in Greece and Southeast Europe to receive the internationally recognized CSC (Concrete Sustainability Council) certification for ready-mix concrete, reaffirming its strategic commitment to sustainable development, transparency, and responsible production.

The “CSC Responsibly Sourced” certification at Bronze level applies to the company’s production units in Metamorfosi and at the Metropolitan Pole of Ellinikon in Attica, as well as in Efkarpia, Thessaloniki. Awarded by the Concrete Sustainability Council, an international non-profit organization, the certification links INTERBETON with leading green building rating systems such as LEED, BREEAM, and DGNB, further strengthening its position as a trusted partner in high-specification sustainable projects.

In advanced markets, CSC-certified concrete is often a prerequisite for major real estate developments and sustainable public works, contributes to more favorable financing terms, and enhances the overall ESG performance of projects. For INTERBETON, this certification signifies the supply of concrete that goes beyond basic national regulatory requirements, with fully transparent sourcing of raw materials and production processes aligned with European climate and sustainable construction policies.

The CSC certification confirms high standards in health and safety, responsible labor practices, supply chain transparency, contribution to local economic development, as well as progress in reducing carbon footprint and protecting biodiversity. At the same time, it prepares projects to meet increasing European legislative requirements regarding CO₂ emissions in new buildings and reduces investment risk, positioning INTERBETON as a strategic partner for sustainable and technically advanced construction.

The certification was awarded at the Metropolitan Pole of Ellinikon plant, in the presence of executives from INTERBETON and LAMDA Development.

Mr. Christoforos Voulgaris, Ready-Mix Concrete Director of INTERBETON, stated:
“The CSC Responsibly Sourced certification represents today the most comprehensive green identity for ready-mix concrete. It strengthens our commitment to sustainability, aligns our strategy with European climate targets, and confirms INTERBETON’s role as a reliable partner for greener, more resilient, and more innovative projects.”

Mr. Andreas Kapsalis, Chief Programme Execution Officer of LAMDA Development, commented:
“The CSC certification of the unit at the Metropolitan Pole of Ellinikon marks a milestone for our vision for The Ellinikon, the largest urban redevelopment project in Europe, to become a global benchmark for sustainable development and quality of life. This distinction ensures that INTERBETON’s ready-mix concrete originates from a responsible supply chain, is recognized by international standards such as LEED, BREEAM, and DGNB, and enhances the reputation of all parties across the value chain. I congratulate the INTERBETON team for its continuous certifications that establish the company as an industry benchmark and a strategic partner in the redevelopment of the Metropolitan Pole. We share common values: sustainability, transparency, and innovation. Together, we are building a world-class destination that honors the present and inspires the future.”

With the achievement of the CSC certification, INTERBETON further strengthens its position as a pioneer in the sustainable production of building materials, actively contributing to the transition of the Greek market toward a more resilient and environmentally responsible development model.
