Concrete Solutions Forum in Rethymno – Exploring the new reality of sustainable construction

INTERBETON continued its dialogue with the construction community by hosting the Concrete Solutions Forum at the Amira Luxury Resort in Adelianos Kampos, Rethymno, on June 10, 2026.

With the central message “Construction is changing. Are you?”, the forum focused on the transition underway across the construction sector, as new regulatory requirements, sustainability targets, and market expectations redefine how projects are designed, specified, and delivered. The discussion highlighted the growing need for documented choices, reduced technical and financial risk, and solutions that meet today’s standards and tomorrow’s demands.

The forum focused on the new reality in construction, addressing key issues such as the practical impact of EPBD in Greece and Europe. Participants explored how durability, energy performance, and long-term value are becoming increasingly important parameters across projects, from buildings and infrastructure to industrial applications, using examples from the Greek market.

VELTER and VIRIDIA were discussed as solutions that can boost property value, while INTERPROOF Crystal was introduced for watertight construction, risk reduction, and lower future maintenance costs. The forum also highlighted INTERSTEEL for high-performance industrial floors, along with the architectural possibilities of ready-mix concrete. The potential of ready-mix concrete was further explored, showing how innovative materials and technical expertise can support more sustainable, efficient, and durable construction.

With participation from INTERBETON representatives and local construction industry professionals, the event fostered strategic dialogue, practical insight, and enhanced collaboration within the sector. It concluded with discussion and networking, reinforcing the importance of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and forward-looking choices in developing more resilient, efficient, and sustainable construction.
