The Olympia Odos motorway is a project of vital importance for the Peloponnese and Greece as a whole. It replaced the former Athens–Patras road, which for many decades was one of the country’s two main national road axes.
Olympia Odos, delivered in 2017, is among the most challenging infrastructure projects ever constructed in Greece. The Elefsina–Corinth–Patras section, with a total length of 201.5 km, was built while the old road remained in operation. In addition, many of the 29 grade-separated interchanges are located close to urban areas, creating significant constraints for the movement of heavy vehicles. The tunnels, which exceed 25 km in total length, also involved particularly demanding quality requirements for their construction.
INTERBETON participated in the supply of concrete for the construction of the Corinth–Patras section and continues to support the Patras–Pyrgos section, which is currently under development. At the same time, it supplies concrete for maintenance and upgrade works along the entire length of Olympia Odos.
