Athinogenous Mansion. Redevelopment and Restoration

The redevelopment of the Athinogenous Mansion is one of the most significant urban regeneration projects in the center of Athens. The historic building on Stadiou Street—dating from 1875–1880 and declared a preserved monument and work of art—regains its position as an architectural landmark of the city. The restoration aims to highlight the eclectic and neo‑Baroque elements of the original composition, while being complemented by the construction of a new eight‑story building at the rear of the plot. This contemporary structure will be connected to the Mansion through an elevated walkway and newly designed shared spaces, forming an integral part of the broader initiative to revitalize Stadiou Street and respectfully bring the historic ensemble into the 21st century. The synthesis of old and new creates a cohesive architectural whole that unites heritage with modern functionality.

In a project of such technical and historical complexity, INTERBETON played a pivotal role in delivering the structural interventions required. With concrete mixes tailored to the specific needs of a monument with unique structural characteristics, as well as to the high standards of the new building, INTERBETON ensured consistent quality throughout every construction phase. Ongoing support to the on‑site teams and reliability in material supply reinforced the structural integrity of both the restored mansion and the new development. In this way, INTERBETON contributed decisively to the creation of a new urban landmark that honors the past while meeting the needs of contemporary Athens.
