The new Fishing Shelter of Kalamaria is a modern marine infrastructure project of key importance for the Nea Krini area and the fishing fleet of the Thermaikos Gulf. With a capacity for 83 professional fishing vessels, the project addresses a long-standing need, enhancing safety and operational functionality along the coastal zone, while forming part of the broader regeneration of Kalamaria’s waterfront.
Construction was carried out under particularly severe exposure conditions, involving concreting works in a coastal and offshore environment. Constant exposure to chlorides, wave action and the marine atmosphere imposed increased durability requirements, making the project technically demanding and highly challenging.
Within this demanding context, INTERBETON played a decisive role in the successful execution of the project, delivering specialized concrete solutions tailored to the specific requirements of marine structures. Through dedicated mix designs for marine exposure, rapid strength development where needed, and a reliable, continuous supply of large concrete volumes, INTERBETON ensured consistent quality, long-term durability, and uninterrupted progress on a complex and sensitive construction site.
